The Agape garden
The Sensory Garden was born from the wish to redevelop the green area of Centro Diurno Educativo Occupazionale ‘La Fraglia’, by creating a space where all the senses can be used and rediscover contact with nature. This idea gave rise to the project for a bio-sensory pathway, an educational, inclusive place, free of architectural barriers, a bearer of psycho-physical wellbeing, which can be enjoyed not only by Agape’s guests but also by family members and people living in the area where the Cooperative operates.
Sensory Room
The Sensory Room is a therapeutic space used specifically to promote self-organisation and positive change. The Agape project is
an environment designed to engage the senses in a targeted way, stimulating perception through: coloured lights, visual projections, relaxing or stimulating sounds, tactile and olfactory materials. It helps to feel in a protected zone, induces well-being, reduces anxiety and fear, stimulates interest in apathetic people and facilitates interaction and communication. The Sensory Room can be used not only by Agape's guests, but also by family members and people living in the area where the Cooperative operates.
Beyond the limit
It is a project which is planned to set up themed photo exhibitions, in cooperation with the photo club ‘Punto Focale’, aiming at involving schools in the area. One of the curators accompanies the students during the visits to explain the subject matter and contents, which are always related to topical educational and training issues. The target is to create an opportunity for young visitors to get to know the cooperative's activities and to experience their creativity in the various craft workshops, together with Agape’s guests. The theme of the current exhibition is ‘environmental protection’.
